Video Training for Overview: Presets Tab
Transcript and Screenshots for Overview: Presets Tab
In this training, I will give you an overview of the Presets tab in Managenable® risk template software.
In the Home tab, there is no link towards the Presets tab.
You need to go to the Options tab to show or hide the Presets tab.
For more information on how to show or hide tabs for Automation, please refer to the relevant training.
In the Presets tab, you can manually change the presets, which are set and used, in the Data Filters section of tabs Preset Report, Risk Charts, Risk Matrix, Treatment Charts, Control Charts, KRI Charts, and, Interaction Charts.
As an example, here is a view of the Data Filters section of the Risk Matrix tab.
For more information on how Data Filters are used, please refer to the relevant training.
Presets are a powerful feature of this risk management application.
It is highly recommended to be reasonably familiar with this risk workbook, and specifically with the use of Presets, before changing anything in this tab.
All information in this tab is automatically updated when you save a new Preset in a Data Filters section.
However, you may still want to manually intervene in the Presets tab.
The most common reason is when you want to change the nickname of a Preset, without having to use the Data Filters section.
In such a case, simply change the old Nickname with the new Nickname.
The new Nickname is immediately made available in the Data Filters sections throughout the risk application.
If the Preset you just changed was already selected in a tab using Presets, this will trigger an error in that tab.
Simply reselect the Preset with the new Nickname, and the error will be corrected.
Another reason why you may manually intervene in the Presets tab is when in the Status tab, you see an error related to the Presets tab.
For more information on the Status tab, please refer to the relevant training.
In the Presets tab, the validity sign will tell you immediately where the issue is located.
You need to check the validity status for each Filter and Value, from 1 to 10 to find the exact source of the issue.
When you have found the issue, you may correct it.
In the Presets tab, any cell in the columns for Filter 1 to 10 should be either empty…
… or contain a text matching an item from the column Filter to Use in Tabs in the Filters tab.
For more information on the Filters tab, please refer to the relevant training.
In the Presets tab, any cell in the columns for Value 1 to 10 should be either empty, or contain a text matching an item in the list of possible values for the Filter selected.
Please note that some errors, may be only temporary, and could be addressed by performing a recalculation of the risk workbook.
Simply press F9 on your keyboard to refresh all calculations in the risk application.
To avoid similar issues in the future, you may consider activating the following features in the Options tab: Manage Calculation in Dependent Tabs, and, Manage Window Activation.
For more information on these features in the Options tab, please refer to the relevant training.
In summary, the Presets tab may be used to manually change the Nickname of a Preset, without having to do so by using the Data Filters section in other tabs.
Also, the Presets tab would be used to correct any issue mentioned in the Status tab for the Presets tab.
However, for the regular use of this risk management tool, users do not have to do anything in the Presets tab.
