Transcript and Screenshots for Options: Manage Inherent Risk Assessments
In this training, I will briefly explain the Inherent Risk Assessment feature in the Options tab of Managenable® risk template software.
In the Options tab, the link towards the Risk Module is available under the section Modules Management.
When you click on that link…
… you reach the section where you can activate, or deactivate, the Inherent Risk Assessment feature.
Inherent Risk Assessment refers to the assessment of risks before any treatment or control is applied.
However, this type of risk assessment is not always used in risk management.
Many risk practitioners prefer to concentrate their effort only on other risk assessments, such as the assessment of Acceptable and Residual risks.
The Inherent Risk Assessment feature enables to show or hide the use of inherent risk assessment throughout the risk application.
When your choice is to show Inherent Risk Assessments, a v-shaped green symbol is displayed and the comment mentions the visible status of Inherent Risk Assessment throughout the risk application.
What this comment means is, for example, that Inherent Risk Assessment columns are then available for data input in the Risk Register tab.
It also means that related Risk Charts are then available to copy from the Risk Charts tab.
And the Inherent Risk Assessment section is also available in the Preset Report tab.
As well as in the ID Report tab.
And so on.
When your choice is to hide Inherent Risk Assessment, a x-shaped red symbol is displayed, and the comment mentions the hidden status of Inherent Risk Assessment throughout the risk application.
For example, in the Risk Charts tab, the links towards groups of charts for Inherent Risk Assessment are disabled, and a comment is displayed to inform you of the status of the module.
When you hide the Inherent Risk Assessment module, all data previously entered, if any, in the Risk Register tab, is preserved for later use, if needed.
The information is only hidden.
Please note that the Home tab will not display the show or hide status of Inherent Risk Assessment.
To show or hide the Inherent Risk Assessment module, simply click on the drop-down list, and select what you want to do.
Please note that upon selecting an item, your screen may blink and freeze for a short a moment, while the application is showing or hiding the related columns, rows, charts and filters across the risk management workbook.
