Video Training for Overview: Dynamic Lists Tab
Transcript and Screenshots for Overview: Dynamic Lists Tab
In this training, I will give you an overview of the Dynamic Lists tab, in Managenable® risk template software.
In the Home tab, there is no link for this tab.
You need to go to the Options tab to show or hide the Dynamic Lists tab.
For more information on how to show or hide tabs for Automation, please refer to the relevant training.
As it is mentioned in the title of this tab, it is better to not change anything, and to keep this tab with its default settings.
The Dynamic Lists tab is automatically filled-up via VBA programming, which sorts lists by alphabetical order.
There are lists from some Register tabs and from all Custom Lists tabs.
These sorted lists are then called in other tabs where they need to be used.
For example, the Custom List 1 in the Risk Custom Lists tab is clearly an unsorted list.
However, the same list in Dynamic Lists tab was automatically sorted using VBA programming.
Then, this list which is sorted by alphabetical order is used in the Risk Register tab.
When we click on a cell to select an item, the list which is sorted by alphabetical order, appears; and not the original unsorted list.
This feature makes your items’ selection much easier, since all items you need to select are always sorted by alphabetical order, regardless of how these items were initially entered in the original list.
In summary, you do not have to change anything in the Dynamic Lists tab, which automatically sorts by alphabetical order some Register lists, and all Custom Lists, before those lists are made available for selection in other tabs.
