Transcript and Screenshots for Overview: Data Ranges Tab
In this training, I will give you an overview of the Data Ranges tab, in Managenable® risk template software.
In the Home tab, there is no link for the Data Ranges tab.
You need to go to the Options tab to show or hide the Data Ranges tab.
For more information, on how to show or hide tabs for Automation, please refer to the relevant training.
As it is mentioned in the title of this tab, it is better to not change anything, and to keep this tab with its default settings.
The Data Ranges tab contains lists of named ranges.
All the lists must be valid for the Data Management features to be able to run successfully.
Beside named ranges, there are validity signs.
When all named ranges are valid, the Overall Validity is a V-shaped green sign.
When one or several named ranges are invalid, the signs beside each invalid named range, and the sign for the Overall Validity, are X-shaped and red.
There are 3 main reasons why any named range in the Data Ranges tab may become invalid.
The 1st reason may be that the named range was changed or deleted by using the Name Manager in the Menu, under Formulas.
The 2nd reason may be that the named range was modified in this Data Ranges tab, but not in the Name Manager.
The 3rd reason may be that the named range was deleted in the tab where it was located.
However, please note that during the normal use of this risk management tool, you should not face any problem with invalid named ranges.
In summary, you do not have to change anything in the Data Ranges tab.
The default settings of this tab enable the Data Management features available in the Options tab to run properly.
